Man airlifted to Perth with serious injuries after truck rollover on Great Southern Highway near Wagin

A truck driver has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after his vehicle rolled in Piesseville on Wednesday afternoon, trapping him inside. The man in his 50s was driving a truck carrying gravel and soil when it left the road and rolled on Great Southern Highway near Walkers Road. The driver was the sole occupant when the vehicle left the road about 2.30pm and was trapped inside the wreckage. The RAC helicopter was deployed, and emergency services rushed to the scene after they were alerted to the incident. Three crews from St John WA attended the scene alongside police and crews from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. The man was freed shortly after 3.15pm. A St John WA spokesperson said the man had serious injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.
