York-Williams Road opens after 24-hour closure due to rollover of Freightliner truck towing a grain trailer

A popular farming road was reopened on Monday morning after being closed for 24 hours due to a truck and grain trailer rollover in the Shire of Williams, with police investigating the incident.

The York-Williams Road between Albany Highway and Congelin-Narrogin Road was reopened shortly after 10.30am on Monday, after being closed since the previous morning due to a truck rollover.

Police received a report about 10am on Sunday that a white Freightliner truck towing a grain trailer had rolled, about 7km from the Albany Highway intersection.

The 49-year-old male driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, escaped without injury.

A police spokesperson said clean up and recovery efforts caused significant traffic disruptions, including closing a part of York-Williams Road for 24 hours.

Williams police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
