Dragons and Eagles firm as favourites for finals in Hedland Netball

The Dragons are red-hot in the top division of Port Hedland Netball with a victory over Lynx, and the Eagles remain high on top of the table, in what is shaping up to be a thrilling finals campaign.

Round 11 action last Tuesday at Faye Gladstone Courts was highlighted by the Dragons’ 35-26 victory over Lynx.

Hannah Nordmann was best afield for the victors and anchored the defence.

Last round the Dragons defeated the ladder leading Eagles and sit behind them at second on the table.

A comprehensive 41-25 win for the Eagles over the Illusions was enough to propel them further up the ladder as they sit five points clear of second, with 16 points.

Eagles’ Samarah Brown put in an impressive performance and showed her versatility as she played in centre, wing attack and goal defence.

The Dragons form continued in B division as they toppled the Eagles 37-25.

B-grade’s other matches were one-sided affairs with a 62-31 blowout by the Illusions over the Lynx and a 56-23 domination of the PHADS by the Spectres.

The Spectres maintained their lead atop the ladder with 22 points, six points clear of the Illusions.
