Police are desperately working to find the mother of a newborn who was found dead in a garbage bin on Monday morning.
New South Wales Police were called to a property on Harrow Road in Auburn at approximately 11.20am, after a body was reported at the location.
Police say a newborn baby’s body was located inside a garbage bin on the western Sydney property.
A crime scene has been established and police are now working to locate the mother of the child.
A police spokesperson said they hold “serious concerns for the welfare of the baby’s mother”.
They are urging the woman to attend the nearest hospital to “receive urgent care for herself”.
An investigation has been launched.
