A three year investigation into a man’s murder has led to police extraditing a suspect from Poland.
In March, 2023, NSW Police were investigating the alleged supply of drugs in the Caringbah area.
While doing so, officers identified links to a missing person investigation and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad became involved.
They were investigating the disappearance of a 22-year-old man from Peakhurst in southern Sydney.
On May 12 of that year, detectives located the man’s body inside a large metal cabinet while conducting a search of Warrell Creek at Macksville on NSW’s Mid-North Coast.
Detectives identified a 26-year-old suspect who was residing in Poland and enlisted the help of Polish authorities.
The man’s arrest was secured in Poland before Homicide Squad detectives travelled to Poland on September 18, 2026.
On October 23, the arrested man was escorted back to Australia.
He arrived around 6pm at Sydney International Airport.
The 26-year-old was charged with murder at Mascot Police Station.
Two other men, aged 22 and 33, were charged over the alleged murder and the matters have been finalised in court.
The 26-year-old is expected to appear in court on Saturday.
