A breakdown has closed lanes on Mitchell Freeway, causing headaches for commuters as peak hour begins on Thursday afternoon.

The breakdown is located on the Freeway northbound at the intersection with Graham Farmer Freeway in West Perth.

The left lane has been closed by Incident Response.

Traffic is slow leading up to the site and Main Roads has reminded drivers to exercise “extreme” caution if driving in the area.

A crash on Kwinana Freeway northbound has also closed lanes on Thursday evening.

The crash occurred on the Freeway at Mount Henry Bridge in Salter Point, and was reported by Main Roads at 4.35pm.

The right lane has been blocked by the crash, and towing services are on site.

Traffic is slow on approach and Main Roads has urged drivers to proceed with caution.

A crash also caused delays on South Street eastbound.

The crash, which was reported by Main Roads at 3.23pm, was located at the intersection of Stock Road in O’Connor.

The right lane of South Street was closed and towing services were on site.

The crash has since been cleared and the lane reopened.
