Construction of a proposed retirement village in Australind won’t be going ahead anytime soon following a decision made by councillors at the Harvey Shire Council meeting on Tuesday.

Councillors had received documents relating to a State Administrative Tribunal outcome hours before their last meeting on June 25, and the majority voted to defer the matter to verify those findings.

Based on the application received and subsequent advice, staff recommended refusal on the matter.

It was suggested by council that the building company take their proposal back to SAT for a renewal.
