The Bunbury Bulldogs hope to return to top-dog status this weekend while Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault vie for a second consecutive win. The Bulldogs and the Lions are set to go head to head at Payne Park during the sixth round of the 2022 SWFL women’s season on Sunday. Bunbury will be returning to the field after having a bye during round five, following their three-goal upset loss to Harvey Bulls back in round four. The Bulldogs sit in second place on the ladder with three wins and one loss, pipped by South Bunbury who moved to the top spot following their win over Harvey last weekend. Meanwhile, HBL will have a tough challenge in trying to stay on the winners’ list as they look to go for a second consecutive victory this weekend. The Lions broke a long-standing losing streak during round five when they toppled the Dunsborough Sharks 9.7 (61) to 2.1 (13), ending months of crushing losses. The Lions sit in eighth spot on the ladder with one win and three losses, behind Eaton Boomers and Carey Park on percentage. The last time the Bulldogs and the Lions met was in round 17 at Brunswick Oval last year, where Bunbury wiped out HBL 12.9 (81) to 0.0 (0).
