A number of South West hopefuls appear ready to deliver

Tomorrow’s Amelia Park Handicap (1410m) at the Bunbury Turf Club could be an absolute beauty, with a number of South West hopefuls in prime position to deliver.

Boyanup trainer Michael Lane has a number of runners capable of victory, including his mare Tradensia, who will jump from barrier six.

Lane has booked Kyra Yuill for the first-up trip, and given the four-year-old’s recent trial form, he should feel confident that the duo can salute.

Tradensia’s stablemate You Am I, a chestnut gelding, has also drawn well (barrier one), with Angela Johnston in the saddle.

Another runner to consider is Alanis O’Hara’s resilient gelding On Red Alert.

He might only have 10 starts to his name and be six years old, but this Boyanup talent knows how to win.

O’Hara will again turn to Laqdar Ramoly in a bid to deliver a victory — a rider she enjoys working with, due to the fact that he rides to instruction.

And given their impressive strike rates, you cannot discount either Kitgum (Capel, trained by Paul Roberts) or Peppijack (Capel, James Grieve) from springing a surprise either.

In the Furphy - Refreshing Ale Handicap (1690m), it could be a tough journey for Justin Warwick’s mare Hoolahoops, who has drawn gate 13.

The four-year-old, who has shown in the past she can be a competitive Saturday horse, has been fairly consistent of late, although she has been boosted by ideal draws over her past five starts.
