Act of kindness from Bunbury resident

A Bunbury resident witnessed an act of kindness at the weekend when her four-year-old Rough Collie dog, Rosie, ran across a busy street in South Bunbury.

After returning from her morning walk with her two dogs, Julie Lawrence walked up to her front door and as she was unlocking it, her dog Rosie manoeuvred herself out of her collar and ran towards Higgins Street.

“I was chasing Rosie for about 10 minutes and cars continued to zoom down the street, it was actually quite scary,” Ms Lawrence said.

“I was yelling out for help but nobody seemed to have heard me.

“Eventually a lovely lady in a four-wheel-drive stopped on the kerb and leaving her child in the car with the engine running, helped me get a hold of Rosie.”

Ms Lawrence said she was thankful to have witnessed such a great act of kindness from a complete stranger.

“There would have easily been dozens of young drivers in cars that just drove right past me,” she said.

“As a retired lady I don’t have the ability to run after my dogs the way I used to and to have someone like Kim pullover and help me, I was very appreciative.

“I hope one day I get to see Kim again to thank her for saving my dog.”
