Curds and whey could soon lead to vodka and gin after Harvey Shire Council’s approval of a distillery at Harvey Cheese.

In a report to council, Harvey shire manager of planning services Simon Hall advised the proposed distillery would be consistent with the objectives of the “tourist zone” at the Wokalup farm, which opens seven days per week under the current business model.

The plans will be advertised for public comment.
