Just outside of Brunswick, the country side was packed with historic tractors, colossal trucks and unique cars with the state’s largest gathering of vintage farm machinery, trucks and cars taking place.
Lights on the Hill is a yearly event hosted by Trachmach, the Vintage Tractor and Machinery Associated of WA. The event draws in visitors from across the state to see old and impressive farm equipment plough the fields of Harvey.
With tractors rolling the fields, blacksmiths and wood turners showing their wares and vintage machinery roaring into the countryside, the event was taste of the early days of farming.

Trachmach state president John Piavanini said this year they wanted to give special attention to Chamberlain tractors, a WA tractor company which closed down in 1986.
“It’s the 85th year of Chamberlain tractors this year, and the majority of tractors here today are Chamberlain,” he said.
“It has been a great turnout, considering the weather we had this week.”

Mr Piavanini said one of the other goals of this years event was to raise money for a replica of a Chamberlain tractor that is set to be five times the size and will become one of Australia’s many big things.
