Leschenault bushfire

A bushfire was reported in the western part of Leschenault this afternoon.

The fire was reported about 1pm today and is believed to have started near the intersection of Australind Road and Green Way in Leschenault.

While there is no threat to lives or homes at this stage there is a lot of smoke in the area.

Residents are being encouraged to close all doors and windows and turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.

Firefighters are on the scene, actively fighting the fire and strengthening containment lines.
