The Alcoa Harvey Waroona Sustainability Fund was rewarded with top honours at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety’s Resources Sector Awards for Excellence ceremony.

The shires of Harvey and Waroona and Alcoa of Australia were recognised for positive community outcomes, winning the Enduring Partnership Award.

The award was one of the three Community Partnership Resources categories, which recognises community engagement and sustainability programs.

Over the past decade of the fund’s existance, Alcoa has contributed $2.3 million to more than 50 community groups and 60 projects, with a further $3.2 million held in trust for the future of the fund.
