It’s always a highlight of the telecast. But this year’s car giveaway might just have gone down as the greatest Telethon moment of all time.

Lucky winner Falziah Cooper, an aviation screening officer at Perth Airport, was surprised by AFL legend Shane Crawford and Sunrise’s Katie Brown, who drove her brand new Hyundai Kona to Victoria Park to present as a prize.

Cooper was ecstatic, jumping up and down in excitement as she embraced Crawford.

“I saw them pull up outside, and I was just screaming, “I won a car!”

“That’s when my son came out, and we heard the door banging.

“I didn’t know what happened — I was this crazy woman!”

But it was what happened next that had audiences in stitches — in the background Cooper’s son, Amir, clad only in a towel, joined in the excitement, later climbing into the car alongside his mum.

It was the stuff of TV gold.

Earlier in the night, another Kona was given away to Bussleton couple Trevor and Brenda Crispin, who are currently living in a caravan park and are experiencing tough times.

They won the prize from a $10 donation they made.
