A man wanted on an outstanding warrant has been charged with a string of domestic violence offences after police allegedly found him hiding in the roof cavity of a Dubbo home.

Police say officers from the Orana Mid-Western Police District first encountered the 31-year-old on February 5 at a Narromine address, where they attempted to arrest him over a previous alleged offence.

During the attempted arrest, the man allegedly broke free following a struggle with officers and fled the scene.

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Four days later, emergency services were called to a Myall Street home in Dubbo after reports of a domestic violence incident. A 23-year-old woman, known to the man, was allegedly assaulted.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated her at the scene for head injuries.

Police allege the man left before the officers arrived.

Later that evening, police were contacted after a 28-year-old woman allegedly received online threats. Officers from the Western Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team began investigating the suspect’s whereabouts.

As part of those inquiries, police returned to the Myall Street address on Wednesday evening.

After hearing movement from the roof cavity, officers allegedly located the man hiding above the ceiling and arrested him.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic violence), stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical harm (domestic violence), and using a carriage service to threaten to kill.

Police also executed the outstanding warrant, charging him with resisting police, assaulting an officer in the execution of duty, and failing to comply with reporting obligations.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Local Court on Thursday.
