Victorian and NSW police have raided seven properties across two states and arrested a man in their bid to find out those responsible for hiding cop killer Dezi Freeman.
A joint operation saw three rural properties in Victoria (Buckland, Stanley and Lucyvale) and another four in NSW (Greenwich Park, Tarlo, Wombeyan Caves and Umina Beach) raided in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A 64-year-old Lucyvale man was arrested in Wodonga and is being interviewed by police.
Another 47-year-old man from Wombeyan Caves was arrested in Greenwich Park on unrelated outstanding warrants.
Police are speaking with several people who live at the various properties.
Desmond ‘Dezi’ Freeman (56) was at his Porepnukah property in August 2025 when police arrived to speak with him about child sex abuse allegations.
A confrontation ensued and Det-Sen. Const. Neal Thompson and Sen. Const. Vadim de Waart-Hottart were both shot and killed by Freeman.
Freeman fled the scene and remained on the run for seven months, when police officers discovered him living in a sea container on a Thologolong property.
A stand-off between officers and Freeman lasted for several hours before the fugitive was shot dead by police..
Police have intensified their investigation in recent months as they work to track down anyone responsible for helping Freeman remain on the run for so long.
Officers are keen to speak with anyone who has knowledge of Freeman’s movements between August 2025 and March 2026.
