Perth and the south west have been drenched overnight as heavy rain fell across parts of WA.

The downpours began yesterday afternoon and rain continued to bucket down this morning, causing chaos on the roads.

Flooding has caused delays in Burswood, with the left lane of Great Eastern Highway near Bolton Ave covered in water.

Main Roads WA is advising people to be careful in the area and take care on the roads.
