MVP retains incredible NBA streak - just

He left it late but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has maintained his staggering NBA record streak as he led Oklahoma City to a 116-103 victory over Minnesota.
Reigning NBA MVP Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, to lift the league-leading defending champions to their home win on Sunday.
His late surge extended his consecutive streak of 20-point games to 128. He broke Wilt Chamberlain's previous record in Thursday's victory over Boston.
The last time Gilgeous-Alexander was held under 20 points in a regular-season game was October 30, 2024, when he had 18 against San Antonio.
With 1:46 remaining in the game, he scored on a stepback against Anthony Edwards and was fouled to reach 19 points. With the crowd standing and chanting "M-V-P!" he drained the free throw to keep his streak and effectively sealed the victory.
Chet Holmgren added 21 points, Isaiah Joe finished with 20, Alex Caruso added 17 and Isiah Hartenstein finished with 12 rebounds as the Thunder (53-15) extended their winning streak to eight games.
Julius Randle scored 32 points for the Timberwolves, while Anthony Edwards scored 19 on 6-of-17 shooting for Minnesota (41-27), who lost for the fourth time in five games in a downturn that has come after an 8-1 stretch.
In Cleveland, teenage rookie Cooper Flagg showed again why he was the No.1 draft pick as he amassed 27 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in leading Dallas to a 130-120 win over the high-flying Cavaliers, who beat them by 33 points two nights earlier.
It is the ninth time Flagg has had at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in a game.
In New York, Jalen Brunson had 30 points and nine assists and Karl-Anthony Towns 17 points as the Knicks (43-25) edged out Golden State 110-107.
Sitting third in the Eastern Conference, the hosts had to battle hard against a Warriors outfit, who were without injured stars Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green (rested).
Brandon Ingram had a game-high 34 points as Toronto (38-29) defeated Detroit 119-108 at home, hanging onto sixth in the East.
Quentin Grimes scored a season-high 31 points as Philadelphia (37-31) notched a 109-103 victory over visitors Portland, despite again playing without Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Paul George.
