AFL Watch: Brennan Cox returns and Patrick Voss boots four in Peel Thunder’s win over West Perth

15 Fremantle-listed players were on show at Pentanet Stadium on Saturday as Peel Thunder survived a frantic fight back to claim a narrow four point win over West Perth. Here’s how they fared. Will Brodie: Received treatment for a foot/ankle injury early in the first quarter, had little impact when he returned to the field and was subbed off before half time with just five disposals. Brennan Cox: Returned from a hamstring injury through reserves with a steady performance without extending himself. Moved with ease and played roughly 60 minutes picking up 15 disposals along with some strong marks. Jack Delean: Quiet, only picked up four disposals and often found himself caught out of position. Joshua Draper: Had his hands full with the West Perth forwards, contained Tyler Keitel for three quarters but struggled in the last, finished with seven intercept possessions. Tom Emmett: Kicked a goal then went into the middle to replace Brodie after half time, one of the best on ground for Peel with 20 disposals and five clearances. Ethan Hughes: Set up the winning goal in last quarter with great vision to execute under pressure and provided a reliable option all game picking up 18 touches. Odin Jones: Very good overhead but was let down by kicking at times, finished with five hit outs, five tackles and a goal in the reserves. Max Knoble: Dominated the reserves again with 47 hit outs and 19 disposals, at 206cm he was excellent at ground level feeding out the handballs. Ollie Murphy: Shakey with the ball and was run down a couple of times due to slow decision making Liam Reidy: Really good battle in the ruck with Brock Carter edging him out in the end with 50 hit outs Cooper Simpson: Affected by an early leg injury but fought well and played a hand in setting up the Voss for the winning goal. Ethan Stanley: Worked hard on the outside wing collecting 19 disposals and three clearances, showed good composure late in the game under pressure. Matthew Taberner: Kicked an important goal in third quarter but aside from that was quiet Patrick Voss: Best on ground with four goals including the game winner with his late set shot, went back to lock the ball down with 30 sec to go Conrad Williams: Showed good speed and poise under pressure, kicked three goals and had 13 disposals in the reserves.
