Police have asked for the public's help to find an unknown man who drove a woman to a western Sydney hospital with gunshots wounds.

The man drove a white Mercedes-Benz into the ambulance bay of Bankstown Hospital last month, stopping the vehicle and running to the passenger side door, CCTV footage released by NSW Police shows.

The man can be seen assisting the woman, before paramedics come to her aid.

As the paramedics begin rendering aid to the woman, the man can be seen running away from the hospital, leaving the car in the ambulance bay.
