Globetrotting suitcase Casey has heaps of packing tips and tricks, developed over a lifetime on the road.

And he’ll be sharing them at Coffee with Casey — an informative social morning on Thursday May 14, 2026. It’s in the Historic Ballroom at the Pagoda Resort & Spa in Como.

Casey is loved for his global adventures and misadventures, fine taste and occasional grumpiness.

He’ll be on stage to reveal how he goes about the business of travel, and plenty of clever “cheats”. And, yes, you will see inside him.

Casey will also bring along his little carry-on sidekick, Justin. Just-in-case goes on some short assignments and has plenty of his own secrets to share. (How to carry liquids and electronic items.)

Oh, and Casey will bring along his constant companion, Travel Editor Stephen Scourfield.

And there will be plenty of time to ask questions and chat with Stephen. And Casey, of course.

Casey (known for both his fine taste and truculence) will be on stage to reveal packing tips and tricks.

Refreshments (tea, coffee, pastries and fruit) will be served at your table by the team at the Pagoda Resort & Spa, Como. There is lots of free parking in the streets around the hotel.

IN A NUTSHELL

+ The “must-have” items Stephen always packs in Casey.

+ Luggage-fest with suitcases, carry-ons and packing cubes.

+ Folding and rolling; the big debate.

+ Packing for warm and cold climates.

+ Preparing for Antarctica and the Arctic, without spending a fortune.

+ Liquids and electronics.

+ Travelling with technology.

+ Phones, cameras, tripods and bags.

+ There will be plenty to see and try.

TIME FOR STORIES, TOO

In addition to the morning’s practical advice, they will talk about their adventures together, from Africa to Europe, Asia to the Americas.

There was the moment, in a small cabin on a river cruise ship in Europe, when they found themselves having to share the double bed, lying stock-still-straight, with a rolled towel between them. (Awkward.)

And there was Stephen, riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle through Tibet, with Casey chucked into a small truck following behind.

Not to mention when they arrived on the car-free Greek island of Hydra, when Casey was hauled up onto a donkey to be taken to their hotel. (The indignity!)

Casey, with Stephen’s help, will relive their adventures, on stage, with photographs.

WHAT TO EXPECT

+ Casey will be on stage, opened up, revealing his inner-most secrets (and packing tips and tricks).

+ Yes, guests will see inside him, and all he contains on his travel assignments with me.

+ Casey (with my help) will tell you about some of his adventures. He’s been lost, threatened, thrown into trucks, locked in car boots, hates dust and loves claw-foot baths, marble bathrooms and fine amenities.

+ There will be plenty of time to ask questions and chat with Stephen. And Casey, of course.

+ A tasty morning tea served by the team at the Pagoda Resort & Spa, Como.
