British luxury cruise line Cunard is headed Down Under once again, giving local cruisers the option to join or disembark a World Voyage closer to home, including Fremantle.
Headlining Cunard’s big new program in 2028 and 2029 is a 115-night World Voyage aboard Queen Elizabeth, a ship well known and popular in Australia. The epic world cruise sails round trip from Southampton, England, departing January 23, 2029 and returning on May 17, 2029.
There are three local sectors that can be booked or combined for the World Voyage, including Fremantle to Sydney over nine nights departing March 16, 2029, calling at Kangaroo Island followed by Melbourne and Burnie and ending in Sydney. Or join the voyage in Sydney either on the shorter 28-night cruise to Los Angeles departing March 25, 2029 via New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, or the longer cruise to Miami over 43 nights.
There is also the option to sail 52 nights from Southampton and disembark in Fremantle.
The full World Voyage spans five continents and includes a full transit of the Panama Canal. There are overnight stays in Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong and Cape Town.
Meanwhile, the world’s only ocean liner, Queen Mary 2, embarks on a landmark 500th Transatlantic Crossing round trip from New York on April 20, 2029 over 21 nights, returning on May 11, 2029.
To be part of the momentous chapter in Cunard’s history you can also sail shorter sectors embarking in Hamburg, Southampton and Liverpool — the first time since 2015 guests will be able to depart Cunard’s spiritual home on a Transatlantic Crossing.
Other highlights of the line’s 2028-29 program include Queen Victoria departures from Southampton that span Scandinavia, northern Europe and the Norwegian fjords as well as Spain, Portugal, Morocco and the Canary Islands.
It also features Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne, on an 86-night South America Discovery voyage, with an overnight stay in Rio de Janeiro during its famous Carnival as well as overnight calls in Buenos Aires and Callao, Peru. It is round trip from Southampton departing January 9, 2029.
Cunard president Paul Ludlow says: “Queen Mary 2’s landmark 500th Transatlantic Crossing will be one of the most significant moments in Cunard’s modern history, reconnecting Liverpool with our iconic Transatlantic service. Alongside Queen Elizabeth’s World Voyage and the opportunity to experience Rio Carnival with Queen Anne, these voyages showcase the breadth and richness of the Cunard experience.”
General sales open on November 5. Savings are available on select bookings until December 30, 2026.
