A Busselton man has pleaded guilty to charges of indecent dealing with a child in the 1980s.

Robert John French, 72, appeared in Busselton Magistrates Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to five charges.

French faces five counts of unlawfully and indecently dealing with a child under 14 between 1986 and 1989.

The offences occured in the South West, as well as in the north of Perth.

Magistrate Stephen Butcher fast-tracked French’s next appearance in court, which will be a District Court hearing for expected sentencing in August.

French was released on bail under previously set conditions.
