Laureen Gaye Sprenger: Woman accused of stabbing partner because he was not helping with household chores

A 47-year-old woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing her partner because he was not helping with household chores. Laureen Gaye Sprenger fronted Armadale Magistrates Court on Monday charged with unlawful wounding with circumstance of aggravation after allegedly stabbing her 47-year-old male partner at a property on Carakine Grove, in Thornlie, about 10pm on Sunday. He was found with two stab wounds and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The court heard Ms Sprenger allegedly stabbed her partner because he was “being lazy and not helping with the home”, adding she had thought about stabbing him before and hoped he was badly hurt. Ms Sprenger’s bail was refused and was remanded in custody. She will return to court via video link on March 3 for legal advice.
