The Geraldton Buccaneers remain undefeated as they brought home another two wins from their Perth road trip at the weekend.

The Saturday game saw Geraldton travel to Warwick Stadium, where they went up against the Senators, picking up a 96-87 win.

Reigning NBL1 West champions the Buccs were tested early, holding just a two-point lead in the first quarter.

Warwick fought back into the game, making the contest tight and levelling the scores late.

Senators’ Brody England scored at the basket with just under four minutes remaining in the contest to put Warwick up three points.

However, that was the last score Geraldton gave up, taking over in the dying minutes.

Ryan Blanchett grabbed a defensive rebound and sank a three at the other end to tie the game up.

Josh Keyes went to the basket and scored five straight points, with Liam Hunt and Nik DeSantis following suit.

The Buccaneers scored the final 12 points of the game to walk away with the win over Warwick.

Josh Braun was the breadwinner for the match, dropping 28 points with six threes, seven rebounds, and eight assists in his best outing since joining Geraldton.

Keyes scored 17 points with five rebounds, five assists and two steals, and DeSantis had 17 points, four rebounds, four assists and a steal.

The Geraldton side didn’t get time to rest as they faced the Eastern Suns the next day, picking up a 93-70 win.

Early on it looked as though the Buccaneers might suffer their first loss of the season.

With the Buccs down five in the first quarter and six in the second, the Suns were in a favourable position to upset the Geraldton squad.

Coming out in the second half, the Buccaneers rallied to take the lead and outscore the home team 35-14 in the fourth quarter.

Aaron Ralph shut down the Suns’ chances of finding their way back into the match late.

With the lead at 14 points, the captain scored back-to-back threes with less than three minutes left to play, all but sealing the win for Geraldton.

Ralph continued his hot start with a 26-point game, nine rebounds and three assists; DeSantis had 21 points, five rebounds and five assists; and Blanchett had 17 points off the bench, six rebounds, and three assists.

Geraldton are now on 7-0 for the season, with the side yet to drop a game and sweeping both of their road double-headers.

They still sit firmly in second place on the ladder, behind Joondalup Wolves on percentage.

This weekend, the Buccs will be back at home as they host the East Perth Eagles on Saturday, May 11.
