Australind cast brings life to golden comedy era
The audience is in for a treat when the Australind Senior Citizens Club takes them down memory lane in the show Walking Back to Happiness, which hits the stage on Sunday.
Based on popular television comedies from the 1970s, producer Eileen Depiazzi has compiled songs and skits from well-known classics such as MASH, the Beverley Hillbillies and Are You Being Served? into a lavish performance.
“The show will bring back a lot of memories for older audience members but younger people will enjoy it just as much as it is a family show,” Mrs Depiazzi said.
“It was quite a task putting it together and our choreographer Roberta Bainbridge had to match the steps to the music.
“The crew really took to the songs and had much fun rehearsing.”
Mrs Depiazzi said despite having produced two shows a year for the past eight years, she had no shortage of ideas what to do next.
The members extended their performances to four this time with matinee shows on Sunday, April 2, Tuesday, April 4, and Saturday, April 8, at 2pm with a special final show on Sunday, April 9, at 4pm including a High Tea.
Tickets are available at the club on 8 Mardo Avenue, Australind, or by calling 9725 8998.
