Music lovers have the opportunity to enjoy stunning vocals presented by the South West Opera Company at the Gibbs Pool Amphitheatre in Harvey this weekend.

The 11th annual Music Spectacular will feature the SWOC chorus, the children’s chorus and soloists performing classical arias from La Traviata, Carmen and Turandot on Saturday.

Marketing manager Marianne Yip said she was expecting about 300 people to attend on the night.

“We discovered this beautiful spot and its lovely surroundings some time ago when it wasn’t often used and now everyone seeks it out,” Mrs Yip said.

“The evening is always highly entertaining with absolutely beautiful music and a laid back setting.

“It’s the perfect place to wind down on a Sunday evening after a weekend out and about – it will be a great night for all.”

Mrs Yip said there would be plenty of talented groups and individuals taking to the stage.

“The children’s choir never ceases to amaze me with how devoted they are to their music,” she said.

“Our soloists, including Rob Littlewood and Marguerite Monagle, have just recently performed in Balingup and everyone said it was absolutely magic.”

Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic hamper to enjoy under the stars while appreciating the music.

The concert will begin at 6pm, with tickets available for purchase from the SWOC website or at the door.
