Leanne GardHarvey-Waroona Reporter

This year has proved one of milestones for the Harvey Hockey Club, with it celebrating life member Peter Wilmott’s 600th game on Saturday and later this month its 90th year.

Wilmott started playing for the club as a junior in 1974 and in 1975 played in the seniors competition for Harvey Agricultural College and then continued in seniors for the club in 1976.

He was part of the winning A Grade premiership team in 1990 and 1993.

Over the years Wilmott has won several awards from the club, including fairest and best in 1987 and 1988, Harvey Hockey Club dedicated service award in 1985 and 1992, and in 1998 he was awarded life membership.

For the past 10 years Wilmott has taken on the role of coaching the men’s side while continuing to be a valued club member.

On October 21 the club will be celebrating its 90th anniversary with all past players and supporters welcome to join.

Anyone interested in attending should contact the Harvey Hockey Club via email harveyhockeyclub@gmail.com by the October 10.
