Bushfire advice in Wellesley

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued a bushfire advice warning in Wellesley near Harvey.

The fire is burning in and around the area bound by Wellesley Road, Pleasure Road and Wellington Road.

It is believed the fire started sometime before 8am in a pine plantation near the intersection of Wellesley and Treasure roads and is moving in a westerly direction.

DFES warned there was a lot of smoke in the area and although there is no immediate danger people need to be aware and keep up to date.

Bushfire brigades in attendance include Binningup, Leschenault, Myalup, Uduc, Roelands-Olive Hill and Coolup.

DFES advised motorists in the area to drive carefully with headlights turned on and watch for emergency services personnel.
