Two Waroona fashionistas came out on top last month in two of the region’s most prestigious Fashion on the Field competitions.

Waroona’s Hayley Scott and Stacey Reynolds won the Fashions on the Field competitions at the Bunbury Stakes Ladies Day on March 19 and the Bunbury Cup on March 23.

The winners are “racing besties” and have been attending races together throughout the season.

“We’ve always gone to the races together and it’s just a fun day out,” Ms Reynolds said.

Ms Reynolds said despite coming from a small town, the internet had proven a fertile ground for fashion ideas and keeping abreast of fashion at race days across the country.

“I spend quite a lot of time researching online,” she said.

Ms Reynolds said the styling of race day fashion was very different to the catwalk, with a more polished and elegant style.

Ms Scott said accessories in particular could make an outfit.

“Accessories do go a long way so you need to finish the outfit off,” she said.

With her win at the Bunbury Stakes Country Cups Fashions on the Field, Ms Scott is entered in the Country Cups Final at Ascot Racecourse in December.

Ms Reynolds’ win could also take her to Ascot as she is in the running to be wild card entry for the finals. Winners of regional Fashions on the Field competitions can enter as a wild card in October with voting securing their place.

“I’m hoping everyone in Waroona will get behind me and help me get my spot as a wildcard,” Ms Reynolds said.

“It’s so much better when we do this together.”
