Firey’s car stolen while fighting blaze
Police are seeking help to find a vehicle stolen from Wellesley this morning.
Officers are searching for a white 2003 Nissan Patrol with the registration 1CQX 295.
It is believed the vehicle was stolen from a firefighter who was responding to a blaze in the area.
Sen. Sgt Mark Smith, from Australind police, described the theft as a “low act”.
“The people who do this type of thing are parasites,” Sen. Sgt Smith said.
“They’ve preyed on the people who are out there trying to make us safe.”
Sen. Sgt Smith said once located the vehicle would undergo full forensic testing to locate the people responsible.
“I’m sure they will be dealt with accordingly,” he said.
Anyone with information about the vehicle can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
