Five Harvey Amateur Swimming Club swimmers recorded personal best times in speedy displays at the annual Harvey Open earlier this month.

More than 300 swimmers from 28 clubs across the State braved stormy conditions to compete in the 16th edition of the popular event at the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool on February 11.

Harvey’s Alisha Williams, Connor Williams, Ben Martella, Kasey Riches and Ash Riches all notched personal bests at the event, following their dominant swims.

Swimming WA chief executive Darren Beazley attended the open and applauded the all swimmers’ efforts.

“Harvey Swimming Club have done a fantastic job again this year in putting on a very impressive meet,” Mr Beazley said.

“The conditions certainly weren’t ideal, but spirits were high and it was great to see so many swimmers getting involved in competition.”

Mr Beazley presented the Harvey Amateur Swimming Club a $500 cheque from Westpac to acknowledge the club’s many volunteers.
