A 19-year-old Carey Park man accused of doing burnouts near pedestrians outside Harvey Beef said he did it to “get back at Harvey Beef” after losing his job. Police alleged the man drove his blue Ford Falcon in a reckless manner — causing smoke and noise — on Seventh Street on June 2. Police also said the P-plater “narrowly missed two pedestrians” as he sped off. The accused said he was “stressed out” because he lost his job at the Harvey abattoir. “I wanted to get back at Harvey Beef so I hooned off,” he said. The man pleaded guilty and was fined $250.
