Man faces weapon and cannabis charges after house search
Harvey police have charged a man after allegedly discovering a bow and arrow and eight cannabis plants at a property in Harvey.
Police seized the bow and single arrow after executing a search warrant in the town’s CBD on Monday.
Upon searching the property, officers also found eight cannabis plants and drug paraphernalia.
Police had been called to Cooper Street twice just before Christmas following reports of a man brandishing the weapon in the street.
A 35-year-old Harvey man was charged with possession of a controlled weapon and will also face charges for cultivation of cannabis, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 30-year-old Harvey woman was also charged with cultivation of cannabis.
Harvey police Sgt Scott Gillis said the alleged discovery had been a “good result”.
“It goes to show that if you come to police attention, we can turn up other things,” he said.
Sgt Gillis said information from community members had provided vital clues in the investigation.
“We are always interested in any information on criminal activity in the area,” he said.
Sgt Gillis encouraged people to report suspicious bahaviour or activities to CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
