Performances return to Harvey landmark with the 2023 Stirling Cottage Outdoor Concert celebrating Bacharach

Harvey residents and those from beyond are being invited to “a night of toe-tapping fun” at the picturesque Stirling Cottage. Following a COVID-19 forced hiatus, the Stirling Cottage Outdoor Concert returns on Sunday with performances by Sophia and the Cast, as well as Bringing Back Bacharach. The concert’s history dates back to the early 2000s as a part of a Summer concert series developed by the late Noreena Manning, which also included performances at the Harvey Dam Amphitheatre and Harvey Italian Piazza. An Harvey Mainstreet Inc. initiative, the concert has been supported by Harvey Community Radio and the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre since 2018. This year’s performance will be a tribute to legendary songwriter, producer and composer Burt Bacharach, who died earlier this month aged 94. Harvey Shire president Paul Gillett encouraged local families to together and celebrate his life and achievements. “It is fantastic to see this great initiative returning to Harvey, celebrating art, culture and community togetherness,” he said. “The Stirling Cottage provides a relaxing space for people of all ages to enjoy a night of fun, singing along to classics such as Say a Little Prayer for You.” Tickets to the event can be booked at harveyrec.com or on 9729 3311.
