Shire of Harvey votes to move Harvey site of 12-month RV-friendly trial to Harvey Recreation Ground site

The Shire of Harvey has voted to approve a new site for the town’s RV-friendly trial after safety concerns at the previous site. An unused basketball court within the Harvey Recreation Ground off Sir James Avenue will welcome those taking advantage of the final weeks of the initiative, replacing the Snell’s Park site at Hayward Street. The relocation was prompted by discussions between the Shire of Harvey and Arc Infrastructure over the rail corridor leased for Snell’s Park, with the council receiving a request in July last year to stop promoting the location to RV travellers over safety concerns. It is the second time a site for the trial has been changed after the Australind location was temporarily relocated from the Leschenault Estuary Eco Museum to Christina Street reserve while works were conducted on the Australind jetty. The 12-month trial is set to conclude in April.
