WA Lotto: Three Springs woman’s Scratch’n’Win makes caravanning dream come true

A woman from a tiny regional WA town plans to hit the road after scoring the jackpot on a scratchcard.

The Three Springs woman became $75,000 richer after winning the Scratch’n’Win top prize after buying a $5 ticket on the spur-of-the-moment from her local general store.

“I nearly fell to the ground,” she said.

The woman plans to make her caravanning dreams come true as she’s set on buying a new car and caravan to travel around Australia.

“I’ll go wherever I like, and live my life to the fullest,” she said.

She’s not the only West Aussie to score big on a scratchie in recent months,

In October, a Mandurah woman won a whopping $300,000, thanking her slow and leisurely pace while shopping as the reason for her win.

“I was at the shops with my daughter, but I walk a bit slower than her,” she said.

“So, I grabbed a ticket while she took off into other shops.”

That decision led to her huge win.

Lotterywest spokesperson Emma Rogers said scratchcard profits are helping support WA through the Lotterywest’s grant program.

“Last financial year, more than $44 million from scratchie ticket sales funded Lotterywest grants, from a few thousand dollars for a local community centre to a $3.2 million grant to support Fringe World Festival,” she said.
