Show to showcase town

Showcasing Brunswick will be the theme of the 87th annual LiveLighter Brunswick Agricultural Show this Saturday.

Show promotions officer Lindsay Rose said it was a chance for visitors to see a different side of the town.

“Brunswick is traditionally famous for the ice-cream factory, the cheese factory, milk processing – pretty much and all things dairy,” she said.

“But as a town we do so much more than that, like community-driven events and the Brunswick River restoration to name a couple.

“This year’s theme is a chance to give show patrons an idea of what else our community can do.”

Brunswick Agricultural Society president Rob George said the town had a lot to look forward to and it was a chance to show all aspects of the town’s great community spirit.

“Our forefathers would be honoured by the achievements of the society in the past 87 years,” he said.

“The Brunswick Show is a wonderful day out for the whole family, with champion livestock, the best of machinery, free entertainment, trinket stalls and a grand finale of fireworks at 8pm.”

Gates open at 8.30am at the Brunswick Showgrounds.
