Cloverdale crash: Woman injured and boy, 5, dies after being hit by car on Belgravia Steet

A five-year-old boy has died after being hit by a four-wheel drive as he crossed a Cloverdale road.

Major crash investigators are appealing for witnesses after the horrific collision on Belgravia Street about 4.25pm on Tuesday.

Police said a silver Toyota LandCruiser hit two pedestrians crossing the road — a 48-year-old woman and the five-year-old.

The boy sadly died from his injuries.

The woman, who is known to the boy, was critically injured in the collision. She was transferred to Royal Perth Hospital by paramedics, where she remained in a stable condition on Wednesday.

Detectives have spoken with the driver of the car, who was uninjured and stopped at the scene.

A witness told 7NEWS that police officers performed CPR on the child, describing it as a “pretty awful” scene.

A local told The West that they saw officers attempting to shield the graphic scene from the public.

It is understood a local soccer club was training at Miles Park at the time. The park runs adjacent to Belgravia Street.
