West Coast’s heroes from the 2006 premiership were reunited on Friday night, 20 years on from one of the greatest grand final victories in AFL history.

The Eagles threw a black-tie gala at Crown Perth as part of the celebrations of their third flag, two decades after it was captured at the MCG.

John Worsfold’s side held off Sydney to win a thrilling decider by one point, having been beaten by the Swans on the last day of the 2005 season.

Worsfold — who has since returned serve as West Coast’s head of football — was joined by nearly all of the 22 players who featured on the day, including superstar midfielders Chris Judd and Ben Cousins.

Judd and Cousins will sit down for an exclusive must-watch interview on 7NEWS on Sunday, where they will share their memories of the remarkable run of success they played starring roles in.

West Coast’s celebrations of the premiership will form a key part of their clash with Richmond at Optus Stadium today.

Players from the flag will form part of the guard of honour to welcome the current side onto the ground ahead of the game and Eagles fans will have the chance to show their appreciation when they complete a lap of honour at half-time.
