Police have launched a fresh search for missing Kimberley man Jeremiah Rivers, who vanished in suspicious circumstances while on a pig hunting trip in outback Queensland almost three years ago.

Mr Rivers, also known as Jayo, disappeared while camping with six others in south-west QLD, near Wippo Creek, in October 2021.

Homicide detectives at the time deemed Mr Rivers’ disappearance as suspicious.

On Monday, QLD Police confirmed they have embarked on a new search, with 20 personnel including police officers and State Emergency Services volunteers involved.

“As the matter is currently the subject of a coronial inquest, it would be inappropriate for any further comment to be provided at this time,” a statement said.
