A man has been charged after allegedly holding two women captive and torturing them at a home in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.

Police allege the 26-year-old man met the two women shortly before midnight on Saturday at a business in Fortitude Valley in Brisbane’s CBD.

The trio travelled together soon after to a property on Latham St in Chermside, where police allege the women were assaulted multiple times.

Police allege the man prevented the women from leaving the property before they eventually escaped and sought medical assistance.

Following investigations, police arrested a 26-year-old man who has since been charged with eight counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

The man, who also faces two counts each of deprivation of liberty and torture, was refused bail to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
