AFL: West Coast nearly stole the show in one of their best performances of the decade.
However, the Pies tasted sweet relief as champion Scott Pendlebury claimed a victory on his milestone day.
Recap all the action from our blog below.
Farewell
It was an epic day of football at the MCG.
The Eagles nearly burst the Pies’ bubble but it ends in a pretty good result for everyone.
Pendlebury deserves the milestone and it will be remembered for being a good game of footy, and potentially a turning point for the young Eagles who proved they can compete on the big stage.
We will be back next week as Fremantle face Brisbane and West Coast host Essendon.
Fitting celebrations
THREE-WORD ANALYSIS
FT: Collingwood 92, West Coast 82
Collingwood have survived an almighty scare from the Eagles to celebrate Pendlebury’s milestone.
Nick Daicos and five minutes in the third quarter proved the difference but the Eagles should be proud of their performance.

Great response
The Eagles go coast-to-coast after Schultz missed and Shanahan kicks the set shot.
Reid gave the ball to Duursma who smartly kicks inside 50 to make the big forward come at him.
Could they still spoil the party? The crowd is flat.

Oh no!
The Pies go forward through Pendlebury to huge roars but the fans are stunned into silence as Jamie Elliott takes the mark but lands badly on his knee.
It does not look good for the veteran who has a history of injuries.
Oddly, the Pies have started a huge scuffle near Elliott. They went after Young in poor scenes for the club on a big day.

Daicos!
Hough has killed Nick Daicos in the last quarter with the Pies star having just three touches.
However, his third ices the cake as he finds room in the forward line and belts through his third major.
McQualter should have tagged him earlier.

Out of the ruck!
McStay grabs one back against the flow for the Pies.
He holds Williams out of the contest and grabs the ball himself.
He puts it on the boot and it sails through for a goal.
